Mercy Gilbert Medical Center's 28-bed Orthopaedics/Neurosurgery Department opened in January 2008 to provide extensive care for patients who have had trauma to a bone, muscle, ligament or tendon. Musculoskeletal and neurological health care services with also provide care for patients who have suffered from a stroke, head injury or have a disorder of the brain or spinal cord.
The nursing staff has specialized training and provides a safe, comfortable and holistically therapeutic environment for anyone who comes into the unit. The department is designed to meet the physiological, psychological, educational, cultural and social needs of patients of all ages so they can better heal and recover from illness, injury and surgical procedures.
